Thomas Wilhelm (CCNP Security, SCSECA, SCNA, SCSA) is a Bishop Fox alumnus. He was a Practice Director of Network Security, where he focused on finding innovative ways to grow Bishop Fox’s network security services in concert with other service lines and practices. He also oversaw multiple teams of dedicated network security consultants responsible for delivering high-quality results to clients.
Tom has an extensive background in penetration testing and system hardening, and has been publishing books on the subject since 2007. His works include “Professional Penetration Testing (Vol. 1 & 2),” “Ninja Hacking: Unconventional Penetration Testing Tactics and Techniques,” “Netcat Power Tools,” and “Metasploit Toolkit for Penetration Testing, Exploit Development, and Vulnerability Research.”
Additionally, Tom is an active security researcher, and has given several talks and workshops at DEF CON over the years. These include “Staying Connected During a Revolution or Disaster” and the “Intrusion Prevention System Evasion Techniques” workshop.
Prior to Bishop Fox, Tom worked as a Security Solutions Expert - Master Technologist at Hewlett-Packard where he supported global operations through endpoint security audits and vulnerability assessments. He also has been employed by Trustwave and Verizon Communications, and has taught as a professor at Colorado Technical University. He holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science and a Masters of Science in Management from Colorado Technical University.
