Today, embedded systems and IoT devices play a significant role in corporate, industrial, and even home environments. Some of them handle critical tasks, but how secure are they?
In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of hardware hacking, including how to identify key components of a device, such as the main chip, flash memory, debug interfaces, and other essential hardware elements. Participants will also become familiar with using hardware and software tools to analyze signals and interact with interfaces and integrated circuits (ICs) to extract firmware, gain root access to a device, or understand its inner workings. Finally, participants will learn techniques for analyzing device firmware to identify vulnerabilities.
