Michael Cheng is a Senior Security Consultant I at Bishop Fox, where he focuses on AI red teaming and AI penetration testing, helping organizations identify and mitigate emerging risks in AI-driven systems. He brings a blend of offensive security expertise and cross-functional program experience to complex security challenges. He previously served as a Security Consultant III at Bishop Fox, where he contributed to advancing AI-focused offensive security capabilities.
Prior to Bishop Fox, Michael was a Senior Security Consultant at NCC Group, where he led and delivered a range of engagements including privacy red teaming for a top technology company, threat modeling, architecture reviews, and both web and Android mobile application penetration testing. He also developed and presented security and privacy-focused guidance for high-profile clients, translating technical findings into actionable insights.
Earlier in his career, Michael built a strong foundation in security and operations through roles supporting vendor security programs for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and technical program management at Facebook. In these roles, he led cross-functional initiatives, assessed vendor risk, implemented security tooling, and introduced automation to improve reporting and program efficiency.
Michael holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Hofstra University, where his thesis focused on reverse engineering and binary analysis of Linux ELF executables. He is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
